Michael Elmhorst Jr, 58, of Paynesville, died Thursday, October 15 at CentraCare Hospital in Paynesville. His celebration of life will be 1:00 pm, Friday, October 23 at Community Christian School in Willmar. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville. A time of sharing will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the school. Private burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Paynesville.

Lylas Boonstra, 90, of Spicer, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at The Crossings in Willmar. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, at Willmar United Methodist Church. A private interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to Safe Avenues Women’s Shelter, Willmar United Methodist Church, or Crossroads United Methodist Church.

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent Green Burial Seminar! We had a great turnout and enjoyed the opportunity to share information, answer questions, and talk about this option for end-of-life planning.

We’re also excited to share that we are currently working with a local cemetery to convert a portion of their cemetery to a green burial area. We look forward to helping make this option more available to families in our area.

John Albert Gronli, 76, of Willmar, died Friday, October 9th at his home. His funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 26th at Harrison Community Presbyterian Church in rural Spicer. Visitation will be 3-5:00 pm, Sunday, October 25th at Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in New London and continue one hour prior to his service. Burial will be at Oak Side Cemetery in rural Spicer.

A celebration of his life, with lunch served, will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar, followed by military honors at 1:00 p.m.
