Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self Awareness

Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self Awareness A meditation and self-awareness center addressing the mind, the body and the soul, where you can release your fears, and realize your dreams.

Full Bloomed Lotus started off in the home of its founder Ramaa Krishnan as informal gatherings where Ramaa shared her wisdom and perspectives from the land of her birth (India) and taught other moms like herself how to apply these to the demands of present day life and situations. By word of mouth as more and more joined her group to be inspired to change their lives by changing their thoughts, a

need was felt to take this to a more formal place and setting so as to make this accessible to greater numbers. Ramaa relocated her groups first to a studio on Washington Avenue in Wilmette, then to a new studio a few doors down on Green Bay Road, and now she provides guided classes in Full Bloomed Lotus' online space. Her offerings have continued to grow over the years to include several tools and teachings, and she now offers online classes, meditations, and study groups on Mindfulness. Full Bloomed Lotus' mission is to integrate the emotional intelligence of the East with the intellectual strengths of the West by sharing Eastern Mindfulness teachings and exercises alongside the findings of science that support these practices. By regularly adhering to a routine of emotional and physical self-care we can indeed release our fears and realize our dreams.

Do you remember this mug? đź‘€

A group of my “petals” gave it to me at the end of a class on relationships. It carries a line we returned to again and again: you cannot buy furniture at the Jewel, meaning you cannot expect from a person what is not in their nature to give!

This Father’s Day, I’m sharing a blog that grew out of that very idea, the men in our lives, the burdens they rarely speak of, and a memory of my own father that helped clinch my understanding at a deeper level.

No comparing or competing. Just the inner work work of finding your unique place in the world.

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.” - Carl Jung

That was Week 1 of The Inner Game. Florence Scovel Shinn and Carl Jung, separated by an ocean and a generation, yet pointing to the same truth. Your path lies within.
We have 5 more sessions to go in this series. There is still time to join us.

Abandoning all hope of fruition does not mean embracing hopelessness. It is about entering a place of infinite openness, trust and fearlessness. This place is new, magical, and full of surprises.

Nature is full of surprises. But we humans are impatient and give up too soon. What often looks like an ending is the Universe quietly preparing for a beginning. Our dead ends are nature’s field of play. 🌱

Excuse me sir, do you have a permit for that tail? This guy casually strolled by like he had a meeting to get to. No hurry, no worries, just pure beauty.
Beauty is everywhere, if you’re paying attention. St. John, USVI just makes it a little easier. 🌴🦚

Motherhood is not only one thing, one person, one role... It is so much more: in every act of nurturing, in hands that heal, hearts that hold, and souls that guide.
Today, we honor all of it. All of you. đź’›

Sharing my latest blog, written in honor of Mother's Day. It started with a funny video a friend sent me and ended somewhere deeper than I expected.

It is called The Dishwasher Disputes. And if you have lived with another person long enough, I have a feeling you might resonate with it. Do read it with humor and heart.

We have all had those times. The heartbreak. The betrayal. The feeling of getting smacked across the face by someone we trusted.
And yet... The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching invites us to pause and look again. Every such encounter is a doorway — to compassion for ourselves, for the one who hurt us, and for all of humanity navigating the shared pain of being fallible and alive.
What if this entire moment was planned by us at a “soulular” level? Chosen intentionally to give us exactly the practice we required to grow?
The insult, it turns out, was a gift. A gift that keeps on giving.🪷

Today’s Full Moon (1st May 2026) and this sacred tree

This is the Bodhi Tree at Bodh Gaya, India. The very spot where Siddhartha Gautama sat in deep meditation and awoke to the truth of our existence.
This full moon is unlike any other. Buddhists believe that on this very day, three miracles occurred in the life of one extraordinary soul. His birth, his enlightenment under this tree, and later, his peaceful passing from this world. All three, under the same full moon.
Our Sangha recently had the privilege of sitting under this ancient canopy, surrounded by pilgrims from every corner of the world. Thousands of years later, people are still visiting, seeking and finding themselves here.

On this special day, may you pause under whatever sky is above you, feel the fullness of this moon, and breathe into the enlightening vibes of Buddha’s eternal presence.
