Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self Awareness

Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self Awareness A meditation and self-awareness center addressing the mind, the body and the soul, where you can release your fears, and realize your dreams.

Full Bloomed Lotus started off in the home of its founder Ramaa Krishnan as informal gatherings where Ramaa shared her wisdom and perspectives from the land of her birth (India) and taught other moms like herself how to apply these to the demands of present day life and situations. By word of mouth as more and more joined her group to be inspired to change their lives by changing their thoughts, a

need was felt to take this to a more formal place and setting so as to make this accessible to greater numbers. Ramaa relocated her groups first to a studio on Washington Avenue in Wilmette, then to a new studio a few doors down on Green Bay Road, and now she provides guided classes in Full Bloomed Lotus' online space. Her offerings have continued to grow over the years to include several tools and teachings, and she now offers online classes, meditations, and study groups on Mindfulness. Full Bloomed Lotus' mission is to integrate the emotional intelligence of the East with the intellectual strengths of the West by sharing Eastern Mindfulness teachings and exercises alongside the findings of science that support these practices. By regularly adhering to a routine of emotional and physical self-care we can indeed release our fears and realize our dreams.

A friend shared this video with me on WhatsApp and I thought it was the best wisdom in the shortest capsule. So am sharing this without knowing who created it.

It’s that time of the year again, time for our annual fall retreat. Every year this retreat reminds me of the power of groups, shared experiences, and deep connection in healing the past and opening up to the future. I am so excited for this year’s retreat: From Past to Possibility. Deb Wineman will lead with yoga and I am ready with this year’s stock of stories and teachings.

My admiration for Dolly Parton began in high school, watching 9 to 5 with friends, and only deepened after moving to America and witnessing the fullness of her life and work.

This picture was taken at Dollywood, where we would stop on our way to the Smoky Mountains. Pausing here to pay my respects always felt sacred.

Dolly was a true Goddess, integrating the human and the divine so beautifully through her talent, humor, generosity, and grace. A heartfelt Namaste to her. Surely the angels are receiving her with open arms, saying, “Mission beautifully accomplished.” 🙏💗

Time seems to rush by as our lives get busier and busier. We move through our days so quickly that we have no time to live the life we asked for.

W. H. Davies’ beautiful poem Leisure reminds us that life needs moments of stillness too. Time to notice, reflect and digest what we have lived before rushing toward what comes next.

This is why I believe so deeply in retreat, both meanings of the word. We retreat from the noise, from the endless doing, and we “re-treat” ourselves, to rest and reset, to savor being alive.

This fall, join me at Wingspread for a few precious days to pause, reflect, and make space for what is waiting to emerge.

Every soul we meet is a sacred encounter. Some arrive to awaken us, some to walk beside us for a while, and a precious few remain for a lifetime. Even the ones who leave continue to shape our hearts in ways we may not understand until much later.

Today, I honor every soul who has been part of my journey. Happy Friendship Day. 🤍

We often spend a lot of attention on how we speak to others or how we sound to our listeners. Florence Scovel Shinn asks us to dig deeper. How do you speak to yourself? How do you speak to your fears or your dreams? She describes our words as our “wands” and asks us to speak them consciously and confidently so we live a powerful life. Use your words to life yourself up today! 💜

Have you ever worried about forgetting something important, or wished you could let go of a memory that keeps replaying? Florence Scovel Shinn reminds us that our minds are held by something wiser than our own and recommends an affirmation to help us. As we use these words we redirect our faculties to work for us.

Trust that what serves your growth stays with you, and what doesn’t falls away in its own time. 🪷

Standing in what used to be a palace kitchen in Jaipur, next to the vessel that once fed every soul in the palace. I call our Sangha a karma kitchen too. A place where we slowly cook our life experiences until even the bitter ones become something that nourishes us. This fall, we go deeper together. From Past to Possibility, October 1-4, Racine, WI. Link in bio to join us. 🪔
