We are thankful to our friend, Maria, who loads up our vehicle every week for a deep discounted price of $200.
 It’s a win-win situation. On slow days at the Wallace Flea Market, she knows she has our purchase coming in. It’s hot outside, she’s working out of a truck and horse trailer with no air-conditioning. She’s working hard and we have great respect for her and her sweet children that tag along weekend after weekend.
In addition to cooked meals, we are able to giveaway fresh produce that some families may not be able to typically purchase.
While we well know that canned vegetables will keep you alive, is the only goal of blessing people just to keep them alive?
We want to encourage folks to keep working and stay out of the welfare system. This is our small way of doing so by offering nourishment and dignity with a smile.
Seeing the unseen that are in plain sight.
There was a restaurant back home called Charlie Staples BBQ. He was an older man with a good sense of humor and always smiling. At the end of his commercials, he would always say, “our secret ingredient is an extra cup of love”.
In my mind, fresh produce is an extra cup of love. ❤️
