This Gastroparesis Awareness Month, join us in recognizing the people whose daily experiences may not always be visible.

Gastroparesis affects how food moves through the stomach and can make symptoms such as nausea, bloating, abdominal discomfort, and feeling full quickly part of everyday life. Greater awareness can help more people feel seen, supported, and understood.

Clinical research helps expand what we know about gastroparesis while exploring new possibilities for its care and treatment.

πŸ’š Every experience shared can strengthen understanding. Every research advancement can create hope for what comes next.

Have you ever heard the term "double-blind study"?

In some clinical trials, neither the participant nor the research team knows which study treatment a participant receives until the study is complete.

This approach helps reduce bias and allows researchers to evaluate treatments as fairly and accurately as possible.

If a medical emergency occurs, researchers have procedures in place to quickly identify a participant's assigned treatment if needed.

Double-blind studies are one of many ways researchers work to ensure high-quality scientific results while protecting participant safety.

One of the most common questions about clinical trials is, "Will I receive a placebo?"

The answer depends on the study.

A placebo is an inactive substance designed to look like the study treatment. Researchers may use a placebo in certain studies to better understand how a new treatment performs.

However, many clinical trials compare a new treatment to the current standard of care instead of a placebo.

Before joining any study, you'll receive detailed information about whether a placebo is part of the research and have the opportunity to ask questions before making your decision.

Understanding the study design helps participants make informed choices with confidence.

Psoriasis is more than a skin condition.

It is a chronic immune-mediated disease that can cause red, scaly patches on the skin and may also be associated with joint pain, fatigue, and other health conditions. Symptoms can vary from person to person and may come and go over time.

Common signs of psoriasis may include:
βœ”οΈ Red, raised patches of skin
βœ”οΈ Silvery or white scales
βœ”οΈ Itching, burning, or soreness
βœ”οΈ Dry or cracked skin
βœ”οΈ Thickened or pitted nails
βœ”οΈ Joint pain or stiffness in some individuals

Clinical research has played an important role in advancing the understanding of psoriasis and continues to evaluate new therapies aimed at improving symptom management, reducing inflammation, and enhancing quality of life.

During Psoriasis Action Month, we recognize the millions of people living with psoriasis and the importance of ongoing research in advancing future treatment options.

Every clinical trial helps expand our understanding of chronic inflammatory conditions and brings us one step closer to better care.

Not all clinical trials are the same. Before a new treatment becomes widely available, it moves through several phases of research.

Phase I focuses on safety.
Phase II looks at how well the treatment works while continuing to evaluate safety.
Phase III compares the new treatment with current standards of care in larger groups of participants.
Phase IV continues to monitor safety and effectiveness after approval.

Each phase builds on the last, helping researchers gather the evidence needed to improve patient care.
