What is the DUTCH Test, and why might Dr. Griffin order one?
Hormone testing is not always as simple as checking whether a number is “high” or “low.”
The DUTCH Test uses dried urine samples to provide a more detailed look at certain hormones and how the body processes them. Depending on the panel, it may include estrogen metabolites, progesterone and testosterone-related markers, as well as cortisol patterns throughout the day.
That can be helpful when someone is experiencing changes that may involve multiple systems, particularly during times of hormonal transition.
The important part is this: more data is only useful when it is interpreted in context. A DUTCH Test should not be used as a stand-alone diagnosis or a reason to treat a lab result instead of the patient.
At Tidal Wellness, testing is used as one piece of a bigger picture: your symptoms, history, current medications, goals, and other appropriate labs all matter.
