Today is the day. Our first Loft cardio dance party is happening. 7-8pm. Think old school aerobics minus the super cool leg warmers. It's going to be ridiculously fun. This class is a total body and soul workout. End your week on a high note by stepping out of your comfort zone and dancing the night away. A few spots left, so sign up ASAP. Our special guest teacher Kelli is leading the class and she's got the energy to kick off your weekend right. Don't forget to wear sneakers and bring water, because, let's be real, you're gonna need it. 💃

Sanskrit Name: Patita Tarasana (पतित तारासन)

* Patita = fallen
* Tara = star
* Asana = pose

Fallen Triangle is a dynamic, energizing posture that combines elements of strength, balance, mobility, and spinal rotation. It creates a full-body stretch while building stability through the arms, shoulders, core, and legs.

Benefits

* Strengthens the shoulders, arms, wrists, and core muscles.
* Improves balance, coordination, and body awareness.
* Increases mobility in the hips and thoracic spine.
* Stretches the chest, side body, hamstrings, and hip flexors.
* Encourages spinal rotation and healthy movement patterns.
* Builds functional strength and stability for everyday activities.
* Energizes the body and can help improve focus and concentration.

Contraindications & Precautions

* Avoid or modify if you have wrist, shoulder, elbow, or hand injuries.
* Use caution with acute low back pain, herniated discs, or spinal injuries, as the twisting component may aggravate symptoms.
* Not recommended for those with uncontrolled high blood pressure or conditions that make weight-bearing on the arms difficult.
* Practice carefully during pregnancy; modifications may be needed to avoid deep twisting.

Sunday June 7th at 5:45pm- meet with Jen to discuss the next upcoming 200 hour teacher training program! If you have been curious and wanting to give this a go- please come in and ask any questions you have. We will review the curriculum and expectations during the YTT program. Even if you do not wish to teach- but would like to dive deeper into the yoga practice and philosophy, this is for you.

Svadhyaya (Self-Study) is one of the five Niyamas (personal observances) in the philosophy of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

The Sanskrit word breaks down as:

* Sva = self
* Adhyaya = study or inquiry

So Svadhyaya means self-study, self-reflection, and the study of wisdom teachings.

In yoga practice, Svadhyaya invites us to:

* Observe our thoughts, emotions, habits, and reactions without judgment.
* Notice patterns that help or hinder our growth.
* Study sacred or inspiring texts that deepen self-understanding.
* Become more aware of our true nature beneath the constant activity of the mind.

Examples of Svadhyaya

* Journaling after a yoga class.
* Noticing how you respond to stress, praise, or challenges.
* Reading yoga philosophy, spiritual literature, or other wisdom teachings.
* Asking yourself, “What can I learn about myself from this experience?”

“Svadhyaya invites us to become curious observers of ourselves. As we move and breathe today, notice your thoughts, your habits, and your responses. There is nothing to fix and nothing to judge—only an opportunity to learn. Through this practice of self-study, we begin to understand ourselves more deeply and live with greater awareness.”

Many yoga teachers describe Svadhyaya as the bridge between physical practice and personal transformation—the practice of turning inward to learn from your own experience.
