Knox Clinic Pediatrics is one of the longest established pediatric practices in the Cape Fear area, dating to 1976, when Dr. Angelina Edralin Knox founded it. For more than three decades, Knox Clinic Pediatrics has cared for children in Wilmington and beyond. We maintain a very child-friendly environment to put our patients and their parents at ease. Water beads can be very dangerous around small children. When put in water, they expand up to 1,500 times their original size. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4. The AAP recommends using multiple layers of water safety protection, since no single method can prevent drowning. These layers work together and include pool fences, alarms, supervision, water safety skills, life jackets, and being ready to respond with CPR.
