📢 Share Your Voice! We Want to Hear From You.

The North Carolina Statewide Independent Living Council (NC SILC), in partnership with North Carolina’s Centers for Independent Living, is conducting a survey to better understand the experiences, needs, and priorities of people with disabilities and their families across our state.

If you are a person with a disability, a family member, friend, or supporter, your feedback is important. The information collected will help identify gaps and guide advocacy efforts to strengthen services and supports for people with disabilities throughout North Carolina.

Our panel of disability rights and employment professionals will share practical information to help you understand your rights and advocate for yourself throughout your employment journey.

Topics will include:

When and whether to disclose your disability
How to request reasonable workplace accommodations
How to recognize employment discrimination and retaliation
What to do if you believe your workplace rights have been violated
How to advocate for yourself when working with employment counselors, job coaches, and other employment professionals
Why competitive integrated employment is important for people with disabilities
