Feeling dizzy or off-balance after starting a GLP-1 medication❓

Medications like semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound) have been associated with a small increase in vestibular-related symptoms.

Why might this happen?
💧 Dehydration & electrolyte changes
🩸 Blood sugar or blood pressure shifts
🧠 Changes affecting the brain’s balance pathways

Symptoms can include:
➡️ Dizziness or lightheadedness
➡️ Feeling off-balance
➡️ Vertigo
➡️ Difficulty walking or navigating your environment

Not all dizziness is the same—and figuring out WHY you're dizzy matters.

Our vestibular therapists can help determine whether your symptoms are coming from the inner ear, your balance system, blood pressure, or something else.

Feeling dizzy? Don’t just live with it. Come see us at Bodies in Balance PT! 💙

Sometimes, someone just needs to believe in you before you’re ready to believe in yourself. 🧡

Meet Robert. A 20-year Air Force 🇺🇸 veteran, Robert experienced a left hemispheric stroke about 10 years ago that left him with significant challenges to his mobility and independence.

For nearly a decade, Robert had not taken steps outside of acute rehabilitation, where he used specialized equipment to assist with walking.

When Robert came to Bodies in Balance PT, we saw something different: potential.

We knew he was capable of more, but we also knew it would take the right environment, the right amount of assistance, and—most importantly—Robert being willing to take the chance.

We started by working on standing balance and weight shifting, building the foundation he needed to safely attempt stepping again.

And then… he took 10 steps. 👏

Today, Robert is taking steps in increments approaching 40 feet with guided assistance.

But perhaps the most inspiring part isn't the number of steps. It's Robert's determination to keep showing up, keep working, and keep going.

Progress doesn't always happen quickly. Sometimes it starts with one small step—and someone willing to see the potential in you.

Keep going, Robert. We see you. We believe in you. And we're honored to be part of your journey. 🙌

Tight hips and glutes❓ Try this combo ⤵️

Hip CARs (Controlled Articular Rotation) improve hip mobility by building strength and control through your full range of motion.

Following with a pigeon stretch helps release tension in the glutes and deep hip muscles.

Better mobility + less stiffness = better movement

Vision Rehabilitation: Helping You See Your Way Through Daily Life 👀💙

Did you know that occupational therapy can help with visual challenges that affect how you move, read, work, and navigate your environment?

At our Oleander and Midtown/Shipyard locations our occupational therapists use a variety of tools and activities to help patients maximize their visual skills and improve their ability to safely and independently participate in everyday life.

👁️ Aperture Rule – Helps the eyes work together by practicing convergence and divergence skills, which may help reduce double vision.

🔴🟢 Red/Green Glasses – Used in different activities to encourage both eyes to work together and reduce suppression of one eye.

🏐 Marsden Balls – Can be used to work on visual scanning, hand-eye coordination, tolerance to moving objects, and convergence skills.

Vision plays a huge role in how we interact with the world around us. Whether you're having difficulty reading, navigating your environment, tracking moving objects, or managing visual changes after a neurological condition, occupational therapy can help you maximize the vision you have and improve your ability to perform the activities that matter to you.

Our occupational therapists are trained to help you see, move, and function with greater confidence and independence.
