Jewish Family Services of Delaware Jewish Family Services (JFS) is a health and human services agency serving families within Delaware for over a century.

JFS offers outpatient behavioral health and counseling, services for older adults, youth and family support services, and refugee resettlement and émigré services to people without regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, or gender expression. The agency is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and is a member of the United Way of Delaware, Jewish Federation of Delaware, and the national Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies. JFS has received United Way's Community Impact Award, and has been named Lead Agency in the Delaware Aging Network, a consortium of over 50 organizations working together to serve older adults throughout the state.

For more than 40 years, Mel has dedicated her heart and career to serving others as a social worker at Christiana Hospital. Since joining Cancer Care Connection in 2019, she has brought that same compassion and commitment to oncology social work, offering care, support, and kindness to individuals and families facing cancer.

On June 20, JFS Delaware welcomed families, supporters, volunteers, and community partners to the Siegel JCC for a heartfelt celebration of World Refugee Day, an afternoon filled with shared meals, music, dancing, and conversation. For many refugees, the journey to safety is marked by unimaginable hardship.

Through our RISE (Refugee & Immigrant Support and Empowerment) program, individuals and families who have fled persecution, conflict, and human rights abuses find more than essential services—they find a community ready to welcome them, support them, and help them build a new beginning. 💙
