Quantitative EEG & Neurofeedback Program at the Clinic --
Brain Mapping has been a long time resource for Clinicians who seek to find a root problem in the brain and assist in retraining it!
This is how it works at the Clinic:
The patient will come into our treatment room and be seated at a table by our Brainmaster qEEG equipment. The first step in recording a qEEG is preparation. The skin above the eyebrows and the ear lobe are prepped with a painless gel to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the forehead and ears. The patient will then put a treatment hat on with built in electrodes (similar to a swim cap).
Process
The wells of the electrodes are then filled with a flat-tip needle loaded with electrode gel, to establish a better connection. Once this is complete, recording starts. The patient then will be instructed to stay as still as possible while recording, 10 minutes eyes open, and then 10 minutes eyes closed.
QEEG
Quantitative EEG is the software analysis of regular EEG data. The QEEG detailed software analysis allows us to visualize surface brain activity in a way that is not apparent with routine EEG’s. QEEG can elegantly identify areas of brain under- or over functioning, localize brain injury, identify dysregulation and seizures.
Result?
The recorded data is then processed through software to generate a brain map, which establishes a training protocol to treat conditions such as ADHD or OCD. Analysis of the qEEG recording takes approximately 1-2 weeks. Once the qEEG is interpreted and the brain map is constructed, the protocol for treatment is developed.
