💙 Every Family Deserves Support. Every Caregiver Deserves Community. 💚

Behind every child in foster or kinship care is a caregiver who is learning, advocating, and showing up every day. Our Foster Care Wrap Around Support Program is designed to ensure those caregivers never have to do it alone.

The results speak for themselves:
✨ 100% of participants said they would recommend the group to others.
🤝 98% said they found people they can turn to for help and information.
💚 98% said the group helped them connect with others who share similar experiences.
📚 94% reported increased confidence in caring for the children in their care.
📍 92% learned more about available community resources.

Participants who attended the majority of the groups also reported increased knowledge of:
✔️ IDEA (special education rights)
✔️ Stepping Stones Triple P
✔️ Community Resiliency Model (CRM)
✔️ Kids WRAP
✔️ Community resources available to support their families

These numbers represent more than survey results—they represent caregivers who feel more confident, connected, and equipped to provide stable, nurturing homes for children.

Thank you to every caregiver who joined us and shared their journey. Together, we are building stronger families and brighter futures.

Take a look at our infographic to see the impact your support is making!

Just sharing info about an upcoming focus group in case it helps someone out. Details below ⬇️

The Center for Violence Prevention Research to conduct the first-ever study of children’s exposure to violence in North Carolina.

To complete this study, we first need to understand how to reach adolescents in North Carolina. The research team is hosting virtual focus groups for the next four weeks. Youth aged 13-17 and their parents are eligible.

Who can participate:

· Adolescents aged 13-17 (youth can participate on their own if a parent provides permission first; parents may also attend with youth).

· Parents of youth aged 13-17 years (parents can participate with or without their child).

What to expect:

· During the focus group, you will be asked to provide feedback on the mailing and survey materials designed for the study. You will not be asked to complete a survey of your experiences.

· Focus groups will last about 25-35 minutes and participants will receive an electronic gift card.

For more information, please see the attached FAQ document.

If you are interested in helping, complete this form [https://qualtricsxmjh3qbtybv.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eJ5MK7R2FFq8bJk ].

July is National Fragile X Awareness Month. Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is a genetic disorder that causes changes in the FMR1 gene.

FXS affects both males and females. However, females often have milder symptoms than males. The exact number of people who have FXS is unknown, but a review of research studies estimated that about 1 in 7,000 males about 1 in 11,000 females have been diagnosed with FXS.
