Allen Davis
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Kendall Chapel AME Church, 4362 River Road SE, Winnabow, NC. Burial will follow in the Dark Branch Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, God whispered silently unto Allen’s (lovingly known as Boo or Allen) ears and said “My Son, you have worked and toiled enough. Come go home to my house and I will give you rest. Rest from all that burdens you at this moment.” God transitioned Allen from his earthly home to his heavenly kingdom. Allen was born on June 1, 1960, in Wilmington, North Carolina to Alexander Davis (Deceased) and Mary Davis (Delts). He was educated in the Brunswick County School System and graduated from South Brunswick High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Air Force and served six years as a Security Force Police. He moved to Atlanta, GA and worked for United Food Service as a Driver until his retirement. Allen was a man of wisdom, character, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. He lived with purpose, valued knowledge, and believed that life’s greatest joys were found in meaningful relationships, engaging conversations, and shared experiences. An avid reader with an insatiable curiosity, Allen was knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects. He enjoyed learning, asking questions, and expanding his understanding of the world. Whether the conversation centered on history, current events, culture, or everyday life, he had a remarkable ability to offer thoughtful insights and make every discussion meaningful. Family was at the center of Allen’s life. The Davis family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in the bonds they shared. His love and loyalty to his family were constant, and he especially cherished his mother, Mary Davis, whose love and influence remained an important part of his life. The relationships he nurtured throughout his life were among his greatest treasures. Allen will be remembered for his intellect, his curiosity, his appreciation for life’s experiences, and the genuine love he had for his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the countless conversations he inspired, the wisdom he shared, and the lives he touched with his warmth and kindness. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life reminds us to remain curious, cherish our loved ones, and embrace the moments that bring us together. Allen will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. “A life well lived leaves a legacy that time can never erase.” He leaves his cherished wife, Teresa Franklin Davis; son, Erik Davis (Tay); grandson, Alivor Davis of Charlotte, NC; his mother, Mary Davis; stepdaughters, LaKenya Franklin, and LaKeisha (LaMar) Pryor. Allen’s most significant accomplishment was being a father to his children and ensuring they were well taken care of. He loved them with all his heart and there was nothing he would not do to help support their success. He leaves the following siblings to remember him: Gerald (Jackie) of Winnabow, NC, Edward (Angela) of Atlanta, GA, Donita (Elliott) of Wilmington, NC, Patricia (Matthew) of Leland, NC, and Ronald of Atlanta, GA; adopted brothers Kenneth McMillian of Wilmington, NC, and Howard Delts of Leland, NC; aunts, Pearl Brummel of Winnabow, NC, Georgiana Morris of Camden, NJ, and Judy (Rev. Willie) Randolph, Bolivia, NC; uncle, Bruce Davis of Wilmington, NC, and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces and special friends. The following siblings are deceased: Sabrina D. Davis and Claudius W. Davis.
