Water is on my mind. Do you know that a regular minimum water intake goal should look like half your body weight, in ounces? For example, a person weighing 160 pounds should drink at least 80 ounces of water daily. Hydration is a pillar of health, in every day life and ESPECIALLY in pregnancy. Growing a human requires good hydration, at the very least it is one of the things that can optimize the experience!
Lately I have been noticing that I haven't been hitting my water intake goals. I don't know about you, but I have to be intentional about water drinking, or it doesn't get done. It's easy for me to realize it's 3 PM and I've only had a few sips here and there. I like to sip my coffee, I get distracted by tasks, I don't feel thirsty, it's not something that comes naturally to me, there are many reasons why it happens.
But when I don't drink enough I start to notice it, to feel it. My joints are stiff, my skin feels tight and itchy, my muscles hold lactic acid and burn. So I have learned I have to play games with myself, set goals to accomplish. Establish routines slowly over time. And once I start to give my body water it will begin asking for more. And I settle into a good system. But every once in a while I fall down, life gets in the way, I am on the go too much, and I find myself dehydrated again. That's where I am right now.
So I begin again, and that's just fine. The most important, and hardest, part is getting going again. It'll just get easier from here!
