Never leave your child alone in a car, even for a minute. The inside of a car can become dangerously hot in just a short amount of time—even with the windows open—and kids left inside can develop heat stroke very quickly. Always check the back seat and make sure that all kids are out of the car before locking it and walking away. Learn more: https://bit.ly/2JxLKvd

Sometimes what looks like “acting out” is really a child trying to be understood.

When big feelings take over, words can disappear. The nervous system moves faster than language, and the body steps in to express what can’t yet be said.

Emotional safety makes space for words to come back online, little by little.

It’s not that they’re choosing actions over words. It’s that they’re still learning how to find their way to words.

And this learning happens best through connection and instruction, not punishment.

If you want to practice noticing and naming feelings with your child before chaos and disconnection take over, explore the many emotional learning resources we have for caregivers inside our free online community: bit.ly/GenMindfulApp
