Our day program participants worked hard in the pottery room to make their own plates and mugs! To celebrate finishing this project they got to use their plates and mugs and have a snack. We loved seeing how everyone chose to decorate their pottery! Great job everyone!! ❤️

We would like to recognize David for our employment services spotlight for May! He has been working at Wilber’s in Goldsboro ever since December of 2023. May is international water safety month so one of our favorite volunteers, Michael, hosted a water safety event at DOI today! Michael is a lifeguard at the YMCA so he shared information about how to stay safe in and around pools as well as other bodies of water. We had a great time learning new safety skills and we also got to hear Michael talk about his experience as an avid swimmer. Such a fun morning! Thanks Michael!! 🏊‍♂️

Thank you so much to members of the Wilson Community College Orchestra for coming to DOI to spend time with our day program participants! We had a great time learning about each of the instruments and hearing fun songs from movies that we love like Star Wars!! 😄🎺🎼🪈🎻
