One of the most appealing features on our SVWC campus is the courtyard, which sits between Wi******er Hall, Shenandoah Hall, and the Vitality Center. It includes a putting green, a water feature with a koi pond, a gazebo, and a meandering path. We have quite a few residents who are Master Gardeners. Those who live in cottages are free to plant to their hearts' desire to create their own private oasis. Those in the main building can opt for a plot in our community garden to plant flowers or veggies. And those who prefer some shelter can utilize our greenhouse, providing a peaceful retreat. Because we realize that gardening promotes mental well-being, our residents have easy access to all of these options. 👍👩‍🌾🌹🍃🌻

Many of our SVWC residents are extremely talented artists! With our strong appreciation for art, the campus boasts multiple areas for displaying artwork. The Bridge Gallery currently showcases the charming watercolors of resident Rose Trochlil, including scenes from her worldwide travels. When Rose isn't painting, she is spending time with her nine children, 24 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Now that is one busy and well-loved lady! 👩‍🎨🎨🖌🌹

Pictured is Vanessa McAllister, SVWC's Foundation Manager, hosting a fundraising event on Tuesday. A very generous individual donated a large amount of Premier Jewelry that she had accumulated during her days as a representative for the company.

We believe that a woman can never have too much jewelry, and evidently our employees and residents agree! Just over $1,000 was raised during the pop-up sale, all of which goes toward our Fellowship Fund. This fund ensures no one is ever asked to leave SVWC due to lack of resources, offering dignity, stability, and peace of mind during life’s most fragile moments.
