🍊FLORIDA STATE CAVERNS 🍊 Making memories 🫶with the kiddos👧🏻👧🏻 during a long weekend 🥰 The tour was “moderate to severe terrain” within the caverns and we made it back! In one piece! 👌30-40 million years old.. and someone just happened to find it from a fallen tree🌲 . WILD…😳

And we saw a wee bat🦇 nestled in a hole sleeping 😴

Then our favorite hobby… finding eateries that’ve landed on the Food Network 🤤

👁️WHY DILATE!? 👁️ Because it aids 💪in better views 👀of your retina to evaluate for potential sight-threatening 🫣ocular conditions, many that have little to no signs or symptoms🫢.

🤓Trial Frame 🤓 - is in regular rotation at my office! A trial frame 🥸 is used to create a mock pair of eyeglasses 👓 to allow the patient 🙋‍♂️to view what their new prescription will see and feel like. 👍

This is a 👏great technique👏 for new wearers, high astigmatism, if the patient experiences a large change 📈in their prescription, or if the eyes 👀 have a large difference between them. I also use them to show what prism can do to help alleviate strained eye muscles 💪 or double vision 🤪

✨RETINOSCOPY✨ I use it everyday! 🤩 While technology is great for efficiency 👏, nothing beats a skilled Retinoscopy reading👩🏻‍⚕️. Sometimes, 🧒 kids lie because they want eyeglasses 👓to match their friends 🤓. Retinoscopy will tell the truth 🧐. Other times, someone may benefit from it because the eye 👁️chart does not offer something they can use to relay what they see. Or if we second guess the accuracy 👍👎 of the visual acuity 👀if the vision is not 20/20- a great tool for investgative purposes!

Optometrists 👨‍⚕️ are light-benders ⚡️. It’s valuable to see us, whom understands the physics of optics 🥼🔬to ensure you’re not over or under corrected. 👌

After all, it’s more than just asking “what’s better? 1 or 2?”

👀 DOUBLE TROUBLE 👀

Some folks are born with misaligned eyes 👁️👁️, some acquire it through internal 🧠 or external forces 🚗❌. Not all double vision needs surgery 👨‍⚕️ to correct it either! Prism ground into a pair of eyeglass lenses 👓can solve a lot of headaches 🤦🏻‍♀️and doubling 👯for the viewer and improve quality of life 👍.

A little known fact is that the brain 🧠 oftentimes align ⬇️⬆️➡️⬅️ the eyes when you open them to see. If the eye 👁️ is covered and not required to see, the eye can move to its preferred resting position. That can be in, out, up or down. So if after a lengthy day of near work 📓📘📗especially in this computer age 💻, and the eye muscles become fatigued 🫩 from focusing it’ll relax and the eyes may march off into different directions, in which case, prism 🤓may help if reading glasses 🥸are proving insufficient.
