Nothing brings people together quite like great food, fresh fall air and outstanding company! Our Windham Hospital team gathered for a colleague appreciation cookout, taking time to relax, connect and celebrate the incredible dedication our colleagues bring to patients, families and one another every day.

APPs — Advanced Practice Providers — are highly trained medical professionals who have advanced degrees and clinical training that allow them to diagnose, treat and prescribe, just like physicians.

A huge thank you to all of our colleagues who supported the Windham Hospital Emergency Department’s school supply drive!

Together, we collected more than 3,000 school supply items, helping 115 children head back to school prepared and confident.

Today, we’re proud to honor one of our own with a truly special recognition, the DAISY Award, which celebrates nurses who go above and beyond to make a meaningful impact through outstanding clinical skill and compassionate care.

Charlotte McMillan, RN (center) was nominated by a loved one of a hospice patient. From the moment she walked into the room, Charlotte created a sense of calm with her positive energy and reassuring presence answering every concern with kindness and even a touch of humor.

As the nominator shared, “the ease with which she completed what in the past has been a very challenging and uncomfortable tasks demonstrated her advanced medical skill and experience.” Most importantly, their loved one experienced immediate physical and emotional relief, and both expressed deep gratitude for the care provided.

Charlotte, your actions remind us that nursing is about so much more than procedures, it’s about easing fear, preserving dignity, and bringing comfort when it’s needed most. Your compassion, confidence, and clinical excellence truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award.
