Real!
This morning I got up it was beautiful outside ☀️
I procrastinated getting ready for my personal 108 sun salutations (although I knew that’s the first thing I was doing this morning) I was allowing everything and anything to slow me down
🌀 I changed my clothes multiple times because either something was “too tight” “too hot” “too cold” “it wasn’t gonna stay in place”
(keep in mind there are many years of yoga and five years of sun salutations in my back pocket) I still struggled
: It was as though I felt less pressure to get them done because I always do them before I teach them but I did it in reverse this year :
🌀the pups needed extra tending to- they would disagree they were actually completely content basking in the sun on the front porch
🌀Then I had to be sure to be available for my daughter-in case she needed anything- & talk about the pups and life as she got ready for work.
After she left I lost one distraction so I decided to change my clothes one more time, get my mat… oops couldn’t find the mat I wanted to use! Text around to see if anyone saw it…
finally get outside it starts to rain, perfect! I don’t have to do the 108 sun salutations
Tinker with set up and pups a little more
Check the weather. No rain in the forecast
It got chilly- change my clothes again
☀️ suns back out!
Ok I’ll try this one more time!!
even though at this point I’m getting hungry and all the other things I have to do, I am running out of time for!
Set. Up. 🌬🌧 rain is BACK!!
Now if you know me. Rain doesn’t stop me. I like the rain I’ll run in it I’ll yoga in it. But to start 108 sun salutations on a wet slippery mat wasn’t going to fly
Hanger was setting in and “give up” was winning
Taking in the cloud coverage and wind, I knew the joke was on me if I went back out. So I lassoed up the pups, grabbed my stuff and went to the studio.
Things came up in my practice. “Give up” “who cares” “you have medical excuses” etc. instead of giving into that I gave into the reason I wanted to become a yoga teacher I tapped into the love, the joy, and the connection to ME I needed! namaste
