When a loved one dies, children may not know how to process their own emotions about the loss. We all respond differently to loss, and the same is true for children. Some are more likely to cry while others seem to feel numb or shut down emotionally. It’s important to help a child identify how they feel (angry? confused? sad? afraid?).
