The truth is, it’s just not as fun as it used to be.
I used to love social media; the writing, the pictures, the inspiration, the connections… I even loved the influencer side of it— going viral, playing with trends, getting brand deals… but the truth is, I don’t really care about it anymore. It feels like a world to me that doesn’t really align with who I am or what I want in this season of my life. And I’m really liking that.
I’ve been playing with this throughout the summer, reducing my days, hours, and minutes on social media and what I’ve learned these last few months is, life feels a whole lot better offline.
I’m not sure how long my break will be, there’s no pressure for me to do this any type of way… I just want to follow what the guidance of my heart is asking me to do.
I like the experience of not seeing 20 different lives and nonstop advertisements every two minutes. I like choosing what stimulates my mind and my dopamine, and who/what gets my energy and who/what doesn’t.
I like not being a girl boss… gosh, do I love that season is over in my life. I’m done competing and chasing and climbing. I’m ready to just be still for a while 💛
Call me rebellious, I’ve always had that nature.
If you’d like to book an appointment with me, please reach out through psychology today, email, or my website. I hope to do more writing in the days to come, and I might even do a patreon for those who wish to follow it.
In the meantime, I wish you well, Instagram… it’s okay if you forget me, lord knows I’ll stop thinking about you 😌✨
