Dr. Asbeck (PGY-4), Dr. Dinkins (PGY-3), Dr. Gadre (PGY-3) and the amazing Dr. McMichael (Professor and Chair Emeritus) represented Wake Forest Dermatology at the 2nd Annual Hair Health Summit in Chicago this weekend. What an amazing few days full of learning, connection, and all things hair!

Photos from our graduation/award ceremony last weekend 🏆🎓 it was full of bittersweet emotions as we prepare to say goodbye to our wonderful seniors (Matt Hrin, Brittany Feaster, Christen Mitchell, Varun Ranpariya) and this year’s dermpath fellow (Cat Gloss) ✨We will miss them dearly ❤️

In early May, Dr. Pichardo, Dr. Strowd, Dr. Rimmer, and Dr. Ribaudo traveled to Peru for an international dermatology campaign in collaboration with Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicados (UPC) and Mision Huascaran. The trip started in Lima, Peru where the group met with officials from UPC to discuss long term collaboration in the form of international fellowships and yearly teaching sessions. The group then traveled to the central Peruvian Andes for two full days of dermatology clinic at Carhuaz and Yunguay Hospitals. This rural area in the Peruvian Andes has never participated in a formal dermatology campaign. ~180 patients were seen over 2 days, and primary care providers in the region participated in the campaigns. Wake Forest derm, UPC, and Mision Huascaran are excited at the prospect of continued collaboration to train Peruvian physicians in dermatology and provide sustainable dermatologic care. This weekend our residents (and a few residents from and ) spent Saturday morning practicing their surgical and procedural skills on donated cadavers. Big thanks to Dr. Goldman, Dr. Cox, and Dr. Doerfler for volunteering their time and expertise to teach us the weekend!
