Dr. Baker graduated from Alleg
heny College and obtained his medical degree from the University Of Rochester School Of Medicine. His post-graduate training includes an internship and residency from Beth Israel Hospital/ Harvard Medical School in Surgery and Anesthesiology. More recently, he has served as the Director of Anesthesiology and Pain Management, Director of the Problem Wound Care Center, Chairman of the Surgery Department and President of the Medical Staff at Valdese General Hospital. He also was the President of the Burke County Medical Society. Dr. Baker’s academic appointments include Clinical Instructor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School, and Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at Duke Medical School. Dr. Baker is an active member of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the North Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists and the North Carolina and Forsyth County Medical Societies. Dr. Baker is certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. “It is the mission of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine to improve the quality of medical practitioners and the care of patients related to venous disorders through rigorous testing, reliable certification and improved educational standards.” There are currently only about 600 physicians certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine in the entire United States. Dr. Baker is proud to be a member of this esteemed group of physicians. Dr. Baker is also Board Certified in Anesthesiology and is a former member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Baker’s entire practice is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders.
