At Arbor Acres, we believe investing in our Artists is one of the most meaningful ways we can invest in the future. Through resident-supported scholarships and tuition reimbursement for job-related education, we're proud to help team members pursue their professional goals and continue growing in their careers.

Congratulations to two of our eight fall scholarship recipients!

Drake Tulbert is pursuing an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Maria Mata Camarillo is earning an Associate's Degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Both are attending Forsyth Tech.

We're proud to support their educational journeys and look forward to the impact they'll continue to make in the lives of those we serve.

The heart of Arbor Acres is found in the people who show up every day with kindness, skill, and a genuine desire to serve others.

This Labor Day, we're celebrating the many hands and caring hearts behind our community. The work of our Artists creates moments of comfort, joy, connection, and belonging for residents and one another.

To every team member whose dedication makes a difference, thank you. We are deeply grateful for the care, commitment, and purpose you bring to Arbor Acres each day.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Arbor Acres.

Looking for your next great read?

Our residents got a head start on their fall reading lists today during an entertaining and informative Writers & Their Books presentation with Winston-Salem author Charlie Lovett, whose mother is one of our residents.

With his newest novel, The Paradox Club, released just three days ago, attendees were among the first to hear about the book that's already generating buzz.

It may just become Arbor Acres' favorite fall read. Charlie sold out every copy available today!

What do five audience members watching a play, a mailbox-obsessed government agency, seven archangels creating the world, Arbor Acres construction rumors over w**e in the Book Nook, and Abbott & Costello have in common?

A packed house!

With guidance from Wake Forest University Theatre & Dance Professor Brook Davis, our talented residents took to the stage yesterday for an afternoon Readers' Theater that had the audience laughing from start to finish. From clever satire to classic comedy, every performance was delivered with enthusiasm, terrific timing, and plenty of humor.

Bravo to our cast and everyone who helped bring these hysterical 10-minute plays to life. The endless "Applause" was well deserved!

As students head back to school this fall, we're proud to celebrate the dedication of our Artists who are investing in their own growth and future.

At Arbor Acres, our value of Stewardship calls us to nurture growth through thoughtful support and opportunity. Through resident-supported scholarships--and tuition reimbursement for job-related education from Arbor Acres--we help our Artists continue learning and advancing their careers.

This fall, more than $14,000 in educational benefits was awarded to eight deserving Artists. Congratulations to our first two recipients: Bricilia Tomas, who is pursuing her Paralegal Certification, and Brian Hunter, who is earning an Associate Degree in Nursing--both are attending Forsyth Tech.

Your commitment to learning inspires us, and we're honored to be part of your educational journey.

Well-being is about so much more than good health. As one of our core values, it's about waking each day with purpose, feeling secure, finding joy in connection, and sharing life's journey with others. At Arbor Acres, we believe life is better together, and that aging is an art form to be embraced and celebrated.

Arbor Acres residents enjoyed an inspiring visit to NCMA Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA) today to experience "Unboxed: Art Beyond the Museum," an inaugural exhibition celebrating North Carolina artists who have contributed to the Museum’s Portable Gallery program. Through this innovative initiative, works of art travel directly into schools, making creativity and artistic expression accessible to students across regional school districts.

At Arbor Acres, we believe the arts enrich lives at every age. Visits like this reinforce our vibrant culture of creativity while allowing residents to take full advantage of Winston-Salem’s thriving arts community.

Over the weekend, residents joined in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census: a citizen science initiative focused on supporting pollinator conservation and environmental stewardship.

Residents gathered in the Community Garden to tally the pollinating insects that interacted with the flora within a set window of time. They then uploaded this data to the official website of this regional event. Their data will help researchers better understand and protect the species that play a vital role in our ecosystems and food supply.

The census offered a meaningful opportunity to connect with nature and each other while contributing to research with a lasting impact!
