Think acne is just a teenage problem or simply the result of what you eat? Think again.

In this video, Brittany Alce, PA-C breaks down two common misconceptions about acne:

1. “Acne only happens to teenagers.”
While acne is extremely common during adolescence, adults can experience acne too — including new-onset or persistent acne well beyond the teenage years.

2. “Acne is caused by diet.”
Diet can play a role for some people, but acne can have many contributing factors, including hormonal changes, genetics, oil production, clogged pores, and inflammation.
