Now taking new patients for August!!!
CPSCFL would like to welcome our newest doctor, Dr. Christopher Otero!! He will be joining us starting August 17th and is now booking new clients.
Dr. Otero completed his bachelor’s degree at UCF. He earned his Master’s in Foundations of Professional Psychology and Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Otero believes that meaningful therapeutic change begins with a relationship grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration. He takes an integrative approach that draws from cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, family systems, and trauma-informed frameworks, tailoring each treatment to the unique needs and goals of the individual. Because his training in school psychology emphasizes understanding people within the context of their environment, he pays close attention to the systems and relationships that shape a client’s daily life (family, school, work, and community). Across every modality, he prioritizes the core elements that research consistently links to therapeutic progress: a strong alliance, the cultivation of hope, honest emotional processing, and the belief that change is possible. Dr. Otero is also committed to practicing in a culturally responsive manner, honoring each client’s values, background, and lived experience as essential components of the healing process.
His clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and post-traumatic stress, adjustment difficulties, grief, behavioral concerns, and neurodevelopmental differences such as autism and ADHD. He offers evidence-based individual therapy, family consultation, and interdisciplinary coordination of care. His assessment practice is equally comprehensive, spanning psychological, psychoeducational, cognitive, and diagnostic evaluations for clients across the lifespan. Specific assessment services include intelligence and academic testing, attention and executive functioning assessments, trauma and mood screenings, and personality assessment, all designed to provide clarity, inform treatment planning, and support educational or vocational decision-making.
