When choosing a senior living advisor, experience matters.

Senior placement is a growing industry, but not every advisor brings the same background, knowledge or understanding of care. This is an emotional and often overwhelming transition, and families deserve guidance from someone who knows the local communities, understands different levels of care and leads with integrity.

I’m Jen Brown, a registered nurse with 23 years of healthcare experience, including:

💙 Hospital nursing
💙 Eight years in home health
💙 Eleven years as an assisted living administrator

In 2022, I founded Nurse Pop-Ins & Senior Concierge after seeing how overwhelmed families became when trying to navigate senior living alone. Many didn’t know where to begin, what questions to ask or which communities could truly meet their loved one’s needs.

That’s where I come in. I help families understand their options, narrow the search and find communities that match their care needs, location, preferences and budget. Best of all, my placement assistance is provided at no cost to families.

You don’t have to navigate this complicated decision alone. Work with someone who brings knowledge, experience and integrity to the journey.

What if the next chapter of life felt a little more like a forever vacation? ☀️🌴

The right senior living community can offer more than assistance. It can bring new friendships, enjoyable activities, delicious meals, added safety and freedom from the daily responsibilities of maintaining a home.

Finding the right fit matters. Every community has its own personality, amenities and level of care, and your loved one deserves a place where they can feel comfortable, supported and genuinely at home.

Nurse Pop-Ins & Senior Concierge can help your family explore the options and find a community that fits your loved one’s needs and lifestyle.

Because growing older shouldn’t mean life stops being enjoyable. 💙

Falls often happen at night when an older adult wakes up disoriented, gets out of bed quickly or tries to walk to the bathroom while still unsteady.

A few simple tools may help caregivers respond more quickly:

🔹 A bed alarm can alert someone when their loved one begins getting out of bed.

🔹 A monitor can help a caregiver hear movement and know when assistance may be needed.

🔹 A bedside fall mat can provide a softer surface if a fall occurs.

These tools cannot prevent every fall, but they can add another layer of awareness and protection. Talk with your loved one’s healthcare provider or care team to determine which safety measures are appropriate for their individual needs. If considering a camera, always respect privacy, obtain consent when possible and follow facility policies.

A few thoughtful precautions today could help prevent a serious injury tomorrow. 💙

When a loved one moves into a senior living community, it’s completely normal to worry about what might happen when you aren’t there.

Will someone notice if they fall? Will they make it to meals? Are staff checking on them regularly? Could they be left alone for too long?

These are valid concerns, and you deserve clear answers.

Assisted living and memory care are structured very differently from skilled nursing facilities. Staff members regularly enter residents’ rooms to provide medications, remove trash, complete housekeeping, offer meal reminders and assist with daily needs. This creates frequent contact and multiple opportunities to notice when something isn’t right.

Before choosing a community, schedule a tour and ask specifically about staffing, safety procedures, wellness checks, fall response and how missed meals are handled. Seeing the environment and understanding its daily routines can replace some of that fear with confidence.

You are not being difficult by asking questions. You are advocating for someone you love. 💙
