Hurricane season is here! 🌀 While we hope for calm weather, it’s always a good idea to be prepared just in case.
Here are a few helpful reminders from your Atlantic Care Services family:
✔️ Make sure you have at least 2 weeks of prescription medications on hand.
✔️ Be prepared for possible power outages by checking that your home generator is working.
✔️ If you or your loved one depends on electricity for medical needs, notify your local power company.
✔️ Share your emergency plan with your Atlantic Care Services team.
✔️ Print or download important documents for easy access in case of an emergency or if you need to evacuate to a shelter, including your Plan of Care (POC) and any important legal paperwork.
✔️ Keep a home emergency kit stocked with essentials, including water, non-perishable food, a flashlight, extra batteries, a first aid kit, a battery-powered or hand-crank radio, cell phone chargers and backup batteries, sanitation supplies, a manual can opener, basic tools, and local maps.
💊 Prescription Reminder: If the Governor declares a State of Emergency, Florida law allows eligible residents to receive an early 30-day prescription refill, even if it was recently filled.
Our goal is to help you feel prepared and supported throughout hurricane season. If you have any questions about your care or need assistance with your emergency preparedness plan, please give Atlantic Care Services a call at 407-270-5501. We’re always here to help. 💙
