Denver Health's Alpine Rehab Clinic staff continues to explore the world! Recently, Stella Mirelle, PT at Alpine Clinic in Fraser Colorado traveled to Machu Picchu, Peru with her husband. While traveling, Stella was able to capture a picture with our rehab center's flag at one of the seven wonders of the world, the historic archeological site of Machu Picchu. Stella also made the 1.5 mile round trip summit to the top of Huana Picchu.. Stella was able to carry the flag to the summit of Salkantay pass (one of the highest mountains in the Andean mountain range). While the mountain summit is over 20,000 feet, Stella was able to capture the spirit of the Alpine Clinic at 15,200'! The culture and down-to-earth experiences with locals in Peru's Sacred Valley, observing how indigenous plants and insects are used to dye Alpacan wool, to cross suspension bridges over deep gorges, or to observe the variety of archeological sites throughout the Andean mountains made for an epic dream come true adventure!
To date this year, staff at our clinic has taken our company's energy with our clinic's flag to three separate continents: Nina, OT, traveling to Africa to hike Kilimanjaro in January, Sarah, PT, traveling to Italy for the Olympics in March, and Stella traveling to South America in May. Our staff has also shared Denver Health hats to the communities we visit - the bright orange is a global hit!
