🇬🇷 A little street tour on the way to the Acropolis. 🚶🏽‍♀️

Walking from our hotel with Siri directions in hand (bless her), just soaking in the streets of Athens. Mopeds and motorcycles buzzing by, tiny bakeries tucked into every corner, cobblestones under our feet... it's exactly the kind of charm you hope for.

And can we talk about this weather? Late June and it is absolutely perfect. If you're thinking about a trip to Greece, this is your sign that the timing is right. ☀️

On to the Acropolis. 💜

🇬🇷 Change of plans. 😂

We hiked all the way up and ended up higher than the Acropolis and the Parthenon themselves, with the perfect view right behind us. So when we got down to the entrance, we looked at each other and said... do we really want to pay €30 apiece for tickets when we just saw it all from up there?

Yeah. We're good. 😅

Sometimes the best view isn't the one you pay for, it's the one you stumble into. Absolutely gorgeous from every angle.

On to the next stop... you'll have to wait and see. 💜

🇬🇷 Day 2 continued… Greek roads said "hold my ouzo." 😅

Nobody warned us just how narrow these streets get. Malcolm's white-knuckling the wheel, I'm holding my breath in the passenger seat, and somehow we're both laughing hysterically the entire time.

If you ever come to Greece, just know the roads are an adventure all on their own. 🚗💨
Still in one piece. Still headed to Delphi. Still grateful. 💜

🇬🇷 Day 2 in Greece: Athens → Delphi ✨

We stepped into history today, and I mean that literally. Walking through the Acropolis and standing in front of the Parthenon, my mind went straight to how ancient, how sturdy, how enduring these places are. Thousands of years later and they're still standing, still telling their story.

📍 Day 2 – Athens → Delphi
Acropolis
Parthenon
Old City Hammam
Drive to Delphi
Hotel Kastalia
Dinner at Tavern Dion

There's something humbling about standing where so much history was written. It made me think about legacy, about what we build that outlasts us, about being ordered by something bigger than ourselves.

On to Delphi. 💜

🇬🇷 Ending Father's Day the right way… with a table full of good food and even better laughs. 😂

Malcolm sat down ready to celebrate, and of course the jokes started flowing before the appetizers even hit the table. This man knows how to turn a fancy dinner into a whole comedy show, and honestly? I wouldn't want it any other way.

Happy Father's Day, babe. Here's to laughing through good food in Greece with you. 💜🍽️

🇬🇷 Happy Father's Day from Athens! 💛

Funny enough, on the same day we were racing around trying to catch a tour we almost missed (yes, again 😂), it hit me how much this whole trip has been possible because of the man beside me.

Malcolm, watching you soak in every corner of this trip, plan every detail, and just be so present with me… it's a reminder of what a good, faithful, present man looks like. Happy Father's Day to the best travel partner, husband, and father I know. 💜

We didn't make the tour on time. We made something better instead.

🇬🇷 Day 1 in Athens continued… we almost didn't make it. 😅

Let's just say Malcolm and I had a whole debate mid-walk about whether we were going to miss our tour. Spoiler: there was a little jogging involved. A little "babe what?!" involved. A lot of laughing involved.

We made it. Barely. Breathing hard and all. 😮‍💨

Not every part of this trip has been polished and put together, some of it has been us hustling down a street in Athens hoping we weren't too late. But even in the chaos, it's been so good.

More of Day 1 coming… 💜

🇬🇷 It's really happening. ✈️

I still remember the moment I hit "book" on this trip, half in disbelief that we were actually doing it. Now here we are… Day 1 in Greece, and my heart is already full.

📍 Day 1 – Athens
Acropolis Museum
Hotel Belle Epoque Suites
Dinner at Vezene

This trip has been on my heart for a while, and getting to finally step into it feels like more than a vacation. It feels like an answered prayer.

12 days. 6 islands. And I already know God has some beautiful things in store.
Stay with us… I'll be sharing the whole journey, day by day. 💜

When your patients get older but you don’t. 😂

At least that's what we like to tell ourselves!

One of the best parts of pediatric neurosurgery is seeing our patients come back taller, stronger, and full of personality. Watching them grow is a reminder of how far they've come and it's a privilege to have been part of their journey.

Thank you to all the amazing families who continue to trust us with their children's care. Seeing these smiling faces through the years never gets old. 💙

❤️ Happy Independence Day from Brain & Spine Institute for Children! ❤️🤍💙

Today, as we celebrate our nation, I find myself reflecting on a different kind of freedom—the freedom to love deeply, serve selflessly, and bring hope to others.

As a pediatric neurosurgeon, I am grateful for the privilege of caring for children and walking alongside families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Every child reminds me that love, compassion, kindness, and joy are gifts meant to be shared freely.

While our nation’s history has not always reflected freedom for everyone, I am thankful that God’s love calls us to something even greater: to be instruments of His peace, His healing, and His hope.

My prayer this Independence Day is that we would all use the freedom we have today to make a difference in the life of someone else—especially a child.

From all of us at Brain & Spine Institute for Children, we wish you a safe, joyful, and blessed Fourth of July.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” — 2 Corinthians 3:17
