Medicare Open Enrollment begins next Thursday, October 15, and this year, checking your mail is especially important!

Some 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 and 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 are leaving certain markets or changing their coverage for 2027. That means the plan you have today may not be the same plan available to you on January 1.

✅ Open and read notices from your insurance plan.
✅ Check for changes to your coverage, costs, prescriptions, and providers.
✅ Find out if you need to select a new plan before December 7.

There’s a little more science behind “What’s your blood type?” than you might think. 🩸🔬

Our Lab Manager, Emily Douglas, MLS, stopped by Mrs. Cain’s Anatomy & Physiology class today to talk all things blood typing and let students put the science into practice.

They learned:
🩸 What makes a blood type A, B, AB or O
➕➖ What the Rh factor means
🔬 How lab professionals use agglutination to identify blood types
❤️ Why knowing blood type compatibility matters for safe transfusions

And, of course, they got check their own blood type!

We love opportunities like this to take healthcare beyond our walls and give local students a closer look at the science, skills and careers happening right here in their community.

Today, we were honored to dedicate the Peace Pole placed outside Madison County Memorial Hospital by the Winterset Rotary Club.

Inscribed with the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth," Peace Poles are internationally recognized symbols of hope, unity, kindness, and goodwill. This Peace Pole is one of more than 200,000 Peace Poles located around the world, connecting our community to a global movement promoting peace and understanding.

Even more special, this is one of seven Peace Poles that will be located throughout our community.

The truth is, su***de has touched far too many families, friends, coworkers, and communities.

Many of us know someone who has struggled with their mental health. Many of us have loved someone through difficult days. Some of us carry the heartbreak of losing someone far too soon.

Too often, people suffer in silence because they're afraid to ask for help or don't know where to turn.

That's why awareness matters.

It's why conversations matter.

It's why showing up for one another matters.

Next 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟰, our community will come together for a Su***de Prevention Awareness Walk. We'll walk to honor those we've lost, support those who are struggling, and help remind people that they are not alone.

Because sometimes hope starts with a conversation, a connection, or simply knowing someone cares.

Mental health concerns don't have to reach a crisis point before you ask for help.

We offer psychiatric care for adolescents beginning at age 12 and adults. Services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, individualized treatment planning, education and ongoing follow-up for concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD and other mental and behavioral health conditions.
