Vaginal dryness isn’t just about estrogen.
Yes, hormones absolutely play a role.
But that’s not the whole story.
There’s a kind of dryness that shows up for many women in perimenopause that speaks to something deeper: depletion.
A body that’s been giving, holding, pushing, for years, for decades.
And at some point it says — I can’t keep doing this the same way.
In Ayurveda, dryness is a sign of Vata imbalance, a state of the body that is dry, depleted, overwhelmed.
And it doesn’t just show up vaginally.
It can look like:
• dry skin, hair, lips
• bloating or constipation
• anxiety or poor sleep
• feeling ungrounded or stretched thin
This isn’t a personal failure.
It makes sense in the world we’re living in.
Your body isn’t breaking down, it’s responding.
✨ And yes, sometimes support like vaginal estrogen is incredibly helpful. You deserve comfort. You deserve pleasure.
But we can also ask: what does my body need more of?
More nourishment.
More rhythm.
More care.
Dryness isn’t just the problem.
It’s an invitation to listen in and tend to what needs more nourishment right now.
