In difficult moments, our first impulse is often to react immediately… but the STOP skill teaches us to pause, take a step back, observe what’s happening internally and externally, and respond more mindfully. Creating even a few seconds of space can make a huge difference in how we communicate, cope, and move through challenging emotions.
