Confession time: our residents have their own strong opinions about favorite treats, and it turns out reminiscing about them lights up more than just a sweet tooth.

Every day, our dining program focuses on healthy, nutritious meals, including MIND diet options that support brain health and overall wellness for our residents. But we also believe a treat on occasion can spark a smile, a story, or even a memory that hasn't surfaced in a while.

What was your loved one's favorite treat growing up, potato chips, chocolate, or something else entirely? Share it below. Moments like these mean more than you'd think.

Fifty-seven years ago today, the world watched Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. Many of our residents remember exactly where they were when it happened.

Where were YOU when the Eagle landed? Tell us in the comments, we'd love to hear your story (and we might just share it with our residents at dinner tonight!)

Goodbye June! We are about to cross into the second half of the year, and around here, that means summer is in full swing☀️

July always brings a very specific kind of magic. Long, sun-drenched afternoons, the steady hum of cicadas, and the perfect breeze under a shaded patio porch. It’s the ultimate season for slow mornings with a cold glass of iced tea and swapping stories with great neighbors.

When you think of the perfect, classic summer afternoon, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Are you relaxing by the water, listening to a baseball game on the radio, or enjoying a fresh slice of watermelon on the porch?

Let’s bring on the summer vibes, share your favorite way to spend a sunny July afternoon in the comments below!

They say a true friend is someone who knows your story and loves you just the same.

As our parents age, their social circles can naturally shrink, making meaningful friendships more important than ever. Here at Windrose, we see beautiful new chapters of friendship write themselves every single day over morning coffee, gardening groups, and shared laughter.

To the adult children out there managing your parents' daily care: What is a favorite memory or piece of wisdom your mom’s or dad's lifelong best friend shared with you? Let's celebrate those lasting connections in the comments below!

There’s something about the taste of fresh, local dairy that instantly transports you back to childhood summers, isn't there? June is officially National Dairy Month, and our dining team is highlighting those simple, comfort-food favorites for our residents all week long.

For those of us balancing our own busy schedules while caring for aging parents, it’s often those simple, nostalgic comforts, like sharing a favorite sweet treat together, that bring the most joy.

We’d love to hear from you: What was your absolute favorite ice cream flavor growing up, or the one you and your parents always bonded over? Drop your flavor in the comments!

When a loved one is living with memory loss, traditional conversations can sometimes begin to feel like a hurdle. You might notice them repeating questions, searching for words, or retreating into quiet moments during family gatherings.

In our Memory Care neighborhood, we practice a philosophy centered around meeting individuals exactly where they are in their journey today. Instead of correcting a forgotten detail or trying to bring them into our reality, we step wholeheartedly into theirs.

Connection doesn't disappear with memory loss; it simply changes language. It becomes about the rhythm of a favorite song, the comfort of a familiar texture, a shared smile over an old photo, or just sitting together in quiet reassurance.

For those walking this path: What is a small moment or unique way you’ve found to connect with your loved one that brings a smile to their face? Share your wisdom below to help another family today.
