I was coined by the 316th Military & Family Readiness Flight.

If you have not spent time around the military, a challenge coin is not a certificate. It is not given for attendance. It is handed to you, usually quietly, for work that mattered to the people who received it.

I facilitated LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® at Joint Base Andrews. I came in with a method and a set of questions, and the group did the rest. They built, and what surfaced was more honest and more specific than what a discussion would have produced in the same hour.

That is the part I want people to hear. The coin was not for being impressive. It was for holding a process well enough that the group could say something true, and for the method being good enough to get them there.

That combination is the whole thing. A strong method in untrained hands does not produce insight. A skilled facilitator without a structure gets a nice conversation. You need both, and both are learnable.

That is what I teach.

Your caseload has a ceiling. Your license does not.

If you are in private practice, you already know the math. There are only so many hours, tREmqq as and every one of them is typically billed one client at a time. You can raise your rate. You can add a clinician. But the ceiling is still there.

Here is what most of us were never told: your license qualifies you for work happening in organizations right now, and most of it is going to people who are not clinicians.

Employees in crisis. Teams after a loss. First responders. Leaders carrying more than they can name.

That is clinical work. It does not stop being clinical because there is a contract attached. And the reason unlicensed wellness providers should not be doing post-incident response is simple, they cannot recognize what they are looking at when it shows up.
