When our Health & Wellness Director announced she was expecting, our friends in Flourish Memory Care decided to make the mother to be a present for the new baby.

Over a month we dyed & decorated 10 baby onesies for the new arrival. Yesterday, they were given to the new mama and baby, and we cant wait to receive pictures of her wearing our art!

Our next project is scarves, which we are hoping to sell for our Alzheimer's Fundraiser.

Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III, the hero who landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River on Jan. 15, 2009, after after a bird strike destroyed the plane’s engines, saving all 155 passengers and crew, has disclosed he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

And just as he used his platform after “The Miracle on the Hudson” to speak out about air safety, he’s now continuing to be of service. As he put it, “Over the years, when people would ask about the successful outcome of Flight 1549, I would say that ‘courage can be contagious,’ and on that day it helped everyone band together to get everyone off that airplane successfully. Now we need that courage to battle this disease. I am now part of a larger community with many of you, and we will be courageous together.”
