The patriarchy is literally unaliving women. An IG reel is not enough time to explain all of the things but, please self educate and seek providers who seek to help versus masking symptoms

Tearing can happen during birth, but with skilled hands and a calm environment, healing can begin right where you are 💜

Midwives are trained to assess and repair many types of perineal tears at home using sterile equipment and gentle techniques. Staying in your own space can help your body relax, support bonding with your baby, and reduce unnecessary transfers when it’s safe to do so.

Of course, your safety always comes first—if a tear is more complex (3rd-4th degree), your midwife will recognize that and arrange care in a hospital setting (that requires stronger meds and a surgeon). But for many families, receiving this care at home is a safe, empowering part of the birth experience. Any questions????

Same heartbeat, different generations 💜💙💛🧡❤️

Midwifery care is more than support in labor—it’s holistic, relationship-based care that centers your voice, your body, and your choices from pregnancy through postpartum. It’s education, advocacy, and honoring birth as a natural, powerful process.

And it matters.

With rising maternal health disparities, we need more midwives—more hands, more hearts, more providers committed to safe, respectful, and personalized care for families.

I’m honored to be learning, growing, and continuing the tradition of the granny midwives—the ones who came before us, who trusted birth, who served their communities, and who passed down this sacred wisdom.

This isn’t just work… it’s legacy. ✨

Happy Black Maternal Health week!!! This year it feels very different because the solution to our poor birth outcomes is to have competent, compassionate, respectful care, and as opposed to only being doulas, we decided to both become those providers and help women on a much larger scale. I am attending midwifery school and is attending medical school. 🎓👩🏽‍🏫This weekend Lauren was honored at George Mason‘s 40 under 40 awards and I’m so grateful how this work has brought me friends that turn into family. We’ve been in The Doula trenches together and now we celebrate our victories together. Here’s to all the hard work we put into pouring into others and answering Gods call. Love you sis

If you’re pregnant, you’ve probably been told to drink some nettle tea, but they have plenty more benefits than just for pregnancy. They have antihistamine properties and they help with your iron. I’m trying to put y’all up on games for free - So go and drink you a cup.
