Beautiful ELDERFLOWER harvest this evening. Will dry these flowers for tea, an excellent brew during cold & flu season to help the body move through a virus.
Take a peek around, you may find a bush near you! The flowers left will turn into elderberries. πŸ’•

Each growing season has its own magic revealed in marvelous surprises 🌱✨

The first pic is D**g quai, or Angelica sinensis, amazing for female hormone balancing - it was my first time growing, I had NO idea the plant would grow this tall!

It has a delicate fragrance and attracts pollinators 🐝

Simply the best broccoli I’ve ever grown - row covered it this year to avoid hungry squirrels and raccoons πŸ₯³

Trellised the peas today, flowers are starting πŸ˜„

Clematis in bloom, it loves its new spot along the chimney

A sage flower ❀️ I had never seen one!

And all while the laurel blooms… CT state plant πŸ‘πŸ»

Final shots are my other loves on a late spring June weekend πŸ’•

CT Agricultural Experiment Station is reporting increased tick activity with 40% of submitted ticks carrying Lyme disease spirochetes. Get link to report in comments.

We have tools for you so these pesky buggers can't hinder you from enjoying the outdoors!

βœ“ Homeoprophylaxis: take a weekly dose of homeopathic nosode for Lyme and/or Tick Pathogens to boost your immune system

βœ“ Prevention: essential oil based tick sprays with lemon eucalyptus are effective and safe

βœ“ Check for ticks: remove all clothes and shower/bathe checking all your nooks and crannies 😳 for small, hard, black attachments or crawlies

βœ“ If a tick has bit you, remove with specific tweezers at the head. Do not squeeze the body.

βœ“ Place tick in a plastic bag and submit to CAES for testing. See link in comments.

βœ“ Apply topical balm for soothing (we make our own homeopathic botanical salve)

βœ“ Have homeopathic Ledum 30C and Apis 30C available if needed for tick bite symptoms

You can be confident that your immune system can clear tick based pathogens.

πŸ‘‰ Need support? Get in touch. Naturopathic care supports your body’s innate ability to regulate and heal.

In the 1700s Woodbury families grew herbs in their kitchen gardens for medicine. Curious to know which herbs were used and how?

Check out the Flanders Colonial Cookbook! We contributed a section on 18th-century herbal medicine recipes that we still use today.

Step back into Colonial Woodbury times with the roots of herbal care and how these traditions still influence modern wellness, we encourage you to take a look. It’s a beautiful way to reconnect with nature and your health.
