It can be easy to think of play as a break from learning, but for kids, play is one of the most important ways they develop skills. Through play, children learn how to problem-solve, communicate, be creative, take risks, and work through challenges.
Building a fort, creating a game, exploring outside, or playing with friends all help kids develop physically, socially, and emotionally.
Not every valuable learning experience happens at a table or comes with a finished product. Sometimes the most important growth happens when kids have the freedom to explore, imagine, and simply be kids.
This summer, make room for play. It’s not time wasted — it’s time invested in their growth.
