Balance is more than physical steadiness. For people living with dementia, it’s tied to how the brain processes movement, spatial awareness, and timing – which means changes in balance often show up alongside changes in memory and thinking.

At Artis, we build rhythm and guided movement into everyday life. A marching movement set to music, done standing, seated, or supported, gives residents a steady beat to follow instead of a set of steps to remember. Small, repeated movement builds comfort.
