A Free Support Group for Survivors of the Spokane Complex Fires

Tuesdays | 3:00–4:30 PM | Online
October–December 2026 | 10 sessions | FREE

The fire may be over. The impact isn’t.

Recovery after a wildfire can mean grieving what was lost, rebuilding a sense of safety, navigating anger and uncertainty, and coping with family members who may be responding very differently.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Join other Spokane-area survivors for a supportive, therapist-led space to connect, process, and recover.

We’ll talk about:
Property loss & rebuilding
Anger, injustice & moral injury
Fear of another fire
Pet loss
Different ways of coping
Navigating the holidays
Grief & collective trauma

No cost to participate. The group will meet for 10 sessions, with the possibility of continuing into 2027 if there is enough interest.

Exciting news from Catalyst Counseling: we’re expanding to Spokane in January 2027!

After more than a decade of growing Catalyst in the Woodinville community, our founder and Clinical Director, Katherine Walter, is relocating to Spokane to be closer to family—and bringing Catalyst with her. Our Spokane office will become the second Catalyst location, alongside our established Woodinville practice.

At the heart of Catalyst is our teaching hospital model. We believe becoming an excellent therapist requires more than coursework and supervision hours—it requires opportunities to actually learn the craft of therapy alongside experienced clinicians. We train interns and new graduates through intensive supervision, observation, consultation, and ongoing clinical education, with the goal of helping develop thoughtful, skilled therapists who will become the next generation of leaders in our profession.

We are now accepting applications for our January 2027 internship cohort at both our Spokane and Woodinville locations. We welcome master's-level counseling students looking for internship placements, including students seeking practicum + internship experiences.

You can learn more about our training program here:
https://www.catalystcounselingnorthwest.com/?utm_source.com

And for those of you already practicing, teaching, supervising, or otherwise involved in the mental health community in Spokane: Katherine would love to get to know you! We hope to become part of the existing therapist community—not just open an office in it.

If you'd like to connect, talk about training, share what you've learned about the Spokane mental health community, or just meet a new colleague, Katherine would be thrilled to take you out for coffee. You can reach her directly at [email protected].

Please also feel free to share this with graduate students, faculty, supervisors, or others who might be interested in our January internship cohort. We’re very excited to become part of the Spokane therapist community!
