Sometimes the biggest difference in your health comes from the smallest decision — calling someone who actually listens. Someone who takes the time. Someone who cares enough to hear your whole story, not just your symptoms.

At Tenacity Health, that’s the promise. You don’t have to drive to Colorado Springs or Denver to get care that feels personal, thoughtful, and rooted in what you need. It’s right here. Close to home. Built for you.

To every patient who has trusted us, shared their story with us, and found their way to our door — THANK YOU. You’re the reason I do this work, and the reason I'll keep showing up with tenacity every single day.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to take the next step in your health journey… this is it. Call someone who’s going to make a difference.

Living in Teller County is a constant reminder of what happens when you step outside and let the mountains do their work. Out here, strength feels natural, movement feels joyful, and every trail becomes an invitation to take care of your body and clear your mind. Living in the mountains means you don’t have to look far for opportunity — it’s right outside your door, waiting to be explored with intention and tenacity.

Here’s just some of the health benefits:

🥾Hiking engages your lower body far more comprehensively than walking on flat ground, and the specific muscles doing the heaviest work shift depending on whether you’re going uphill or downhill.

🥾Because hiking naturally varies in intensity (steep climbs followed by flat stretches or downhill sections), it functions like interval training for your cardiovascular system.

🥾Measurable changes in stress hormones happen quickly. In one study comparing walks in green, natural settings to walks along urban roads, cortisol (the body’s primary stress hormone) dropped by 53% after a nature walk, compared to 37% after an urban walk.

🥾Hiking has a notable effect on how your body handles blood sugar.

Excited for the opening day of The Farmers Market, and we treat it as much more than just a place to shop. It’s a reminder of what keeps us well. Real food grown close to home. Makers who pour their heart into what they create. And a community that shows up for each other.

With a view from Memorial Park that is second to none, we hope you’ll stop by, support local growers, fill your bag with real food, and soak in the energy of this mountain town we love. Small choices add up, and this is one of the easiest, most joyful places to start.

A new case series published in Frontiers in Neuroscience explored ibogaine microdosing combined with psychotherapy in three patients with persistent brain injury symptoms.

Over six weeks, participants took low doses of iboga root bark (4 days on, 3 days off) alongside weekly AEDP psychotherapy sessions.

The results found all three showed progressive neurological recovery. Two achieved complete symptom remission at long-term follow-up. Daily headaches, brain fog, fatigue, migraines, and mood instability all resolved. Every participant discontinued their prescription medications.

These are conditions conventional medicine routinely struggles to treat.

While the authors are clear this is early, hypothesis-generating research (small sample, no control group), the findings point toward a genuinely promising direction, and the involvement of Robin Carhart-Harris, one of the world's leading psychedelic researchers, adds serious credibility.

Controlled trials are needed. But the signs are clear.

New Week. New Month, and It’s one of those rare moments that feels like the universe handing you a clean slate and saying, “Try again. Go bigger. Take yourself seriously.”

Summer is here, and your body deserves to feel good in it. This is the season to move with intention, to fuel yourself with what gives you energy, and to show up for your health in a way that actually feels doable.

You don’t need perfection, you just need to start. One choice today and another tomorrow. That’s how momentum builds, and things begin to shift.

Let June be the month where everything starts to fall into place because you decided it would. This is your moment. Step into it with Tenacity.

I thought I was going to end up on disability.

In 2022, I went through a complete health crisis that changed everything – including the provider I am today.

It started after a flare of chronic SI joint instability followed by a silent neck injury from a roller coaster ride at Disney. What followed was months of debilitating craniocervical instability (CCI) and severe SI joint instability. I had rocking dizziness so bad that walking felt like moving on a trampoline. Brain fog. Fatigue. Stuttering. Blurry vision. Excruciating pelvic and neck pain. I could not walk some days. Some days I crawled to my kitchen. Some days I used a cane. I am a nurse practitioner. I was scared.

I fought for myself the way I have always fought for my patients.

I researched relentlessly, diagnosed myself, sought out the best specialists in the country, and built what I call my dream healing team – ruthlessly trying people out and moving on when they weren’t the right fit. That team included regenerative injections (PRP and autologous stem cells) at Centeno-Schultz Clinic, prolotherapy, chiropractic, dry needling, PT, functional
movement work, prayer, meditation... and a stubborn obsessive focus on one outcome: that I would reclaim my health.

And at the center of reclaiming my pelvic and SI joint health was Laura Williams, Doctor of PT and founder of Hearth Healing – a pelvic floor physical therapist and genius in helping women reclaim pelvic health after babies and injuries. She became a critical cornerstone of my recovery. (Everyone: she can work with you remotely also!!)

Pelvic health is not a niche issue. It is the foundation of the skyscraper called your spine. It is the fulcrum of your entire body. When it fails, everything fails. Laura understood that deeply, and she helped me rebuild from the ground up.

I am fully recovered. I strength train with a coach – I will not let myself get weak. I do yoga. I do core workouts. I hike. I ride mountain bike and dirt bike. I trail ride horses. I work full time. I take care of my son. I take care of my farm. I opened my own practice.

Going through this made me a better provider in ways I could not have anticipated. I know what it feels like to be scared, to be dismissed, to have to fight for answers. I know what it means to have the right person show up at the right time and change the trajectory of your healing.

If you are struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction, SI joint instability, chronic pelvic pain, craniocervical instability or any of the ways this part of your body can quietly unravel your life – please do not ignore it. Seek out someone who specializes. It matters more than you know. We can help you put the dream healing team together at Tenacity Health because I've been there. We can lead the charge. Together, we can reject mediocrity and connect you with true healers.

Now, Laura Williams PT honored me by hiring me to be her functional medicine provider. She has also now reclaimed optimal health. Healers helping healers.

Healing and love coming full circle. 🙏❤️

*photo is me working towards recovery with Laura's help. I could only extend my hip enough to bring that toe of the ground for a millisecond at that time.

The CPW draw results are in… and just like that, the countdown to fall begins. There’s nothing quite like the anticipation of another Colorado hunting season — early mornings, crisp air, and the promise of filling the freezer with some of the cleanest, leanest protein on the planet.

If you drew a tag this year, consider it your official reminder: now’s the time to get back in shape, dial in your nutrition, and train for the mountains. Elk and deer season aren’t just hunts, they’re endurance events. And the payoff is worth every step.

High‑protein, nutrient‑dense wild game. Long days in the field with the people that share your same passion. A chance to reconnect with the land, the wildlife, and the work it takes to earn your harvest.

Here’s to another season on the horizon and to putting in the work now so you can meet the mountains with strength, resilience, and tenacity.
