Today April 23rd we are celebrating World Book Day. Here are some of our favorite books!
Christy's pick for PK language is Moo! by Matthew Van Fleet. Christy shared, “There's just something magical about this book. The interactive flaps and textures keep little hands busy while we build big skills—joint attention, vocabulary, imitation, and early sound play. From “moo” to “baa” to “quack,” each page invites children to listen, imitate, and engage in a way that feels like play (because it is!).

Alex’s pick for PK language is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Alex shared, "I love all of the art, colors, and food within this book. This book also supports skills in sequencing, spatial concepts, vocabulary building, trying new things, and early sounds and phrases such as "eat" and "eat more".

Kristin’s pick for PK language is Little Blue Truck written by Alice Schertle. Kristin shared, “This heartwarming story about friendship and helping others creates natural opportunities to support early language with functional words like ‘help,’ ‘more,’ and ‘friend’ to early prepositional concepts like ‘in,’ ‘on,’ and ‘over.’ With its gentle rhythm, and lovable characters, it invites children to listen, join in, and build language skills in a way that feels playful and meaningful.”
