You don’t need flashcards. You just need the moments you’re already in.

My son isn’t 2 yet and he will not stop talking. Not because he’s advanced, but because we use these strategies all day, every day.

Three easy things we do:
🥣 Offer choices. “Milk or water?” instead of just handing him a cup.
🚗 Narrate and expand. He says “go” I say “go car!”
📚 Read the same book every night (if he wants!). Repetition is how words stick.

That’s it. No prep, no fancy toys, no perfectly planned activities. You’re already doing more than you think.

Save this for tomorrow morning. 💛

Some books get requested once.

This one gets requested every. single. day. 😂

As an SLP, I love it because it’s packed with repetition, predictable phrases, fun sound effects, and so many opportunities for interaction.

As a mom, I love it because Graham never gets tired of it (even if we’ve read it 400 times).

So the next time you’re looking for a new kids book, maybeeeee you should try this one. ❤️🐒

Your newsfeed is scaring you. Let me undo some of that.

Somewhere along the way, “here’s a milestone” turned into “here’s everything that could be wrong with your kid.” Every scroll, another red flag.

I get it. Fear gets attention. But most of the time it isn’t warranted.

Milestones are ranges, not deadlines. A late talker isn’t a worst case scenario, it’s a common one. I’d know. I was one.

You don’t need flashcards or quizzes. Playing, reading, talking to them through your day. That’s the work, and you’re already doing it.

And if something ever feels off, having an SLP take a look is a calm, normal step. Not an emergency. 💛

My husband gets full credit for this one.

Somewhere along the way he started asking our son to walk him through the day at bedtime. What we did, where we went, who he saw. Nothing fancy, just a couple minutes before lights out.

I listened in one night and realized he was pulling off something I spend whole sessions working on. Talking about things that already happened takes memory, order, and more words than a kid usually uses in the moment. It’s genuinely hard, and it’s exactly the kind of practice that sticks because nobody is calling it practice.

If you want to try it, start with one small part of the day. The snack. The dog you passed. And let them take it from there. 🤍

Love you, bye. 👋

Three words we practiced over and over. And today he said them like he’d been saying them his whole life.

That proud look on his face? Priceless.

I’m a speech therapist, so I know the science behind repetition. But nothing prepares you for the moment your own kid gets there.

If you’re a parent working on words with your little one, keep going. The 101st time might be the one.

What word did you celebrate at your house? Tell me below!

Graham says "maybe" as "mayme" and I am in no rush to fix it.

Here's my confession as a speech therapist mom. I know every milestone by heart. I also catch myself hoping he holds onto the cute stuff just a litttttttle longer.

So if you're quietly wondering whether your toddler's funny pronunciations are a problem, take a breath. A lot of them are completely normal for this age. Swapping sounds, dropping the ends of words, squishing things together. It's not a mistake, it's practice.

The time to look closer is when people outside your family have a hard time understanding them, your child is becoming frustrated when trying to communicate, or when certain sounds just aren't showing up by the age they usually do. That's a conversation, not an alarm.

Drop your kid's funniest mispronunciation below. And if you ever want to know what's typical vs. worth checking, that's what I'm here for. 🫶🏻

Whether you found us because your little one is a late talker, or you’re just starting to wonder if those missing sounds are something to watch, you’re in the right place.

Here’s what we believe: therapy should have a finish line. Our goal is to get your child the skills they need and graduate them out, not keep you in sessions forever.

We come to you, right in your home, where your kiddo is most comfortable. No waiting rooms, no rushing across town, no travel fees.

So welcome. Stick around for speech tips, real talk from a fellow mom, and a peek behind the scenes of life as an in-home SLP. We’re so happy you’re here.

Follow along, and say hi in the comments so we can get to know you. 👋

A reminder for the moms who are questioning themselves lately... 💛

The fact that you worry, advocate, ask questions, and care so deeply about your child says more than you probably realize.

Some days may not feel like you’re doing enough, but this is your reminder that you’re a really good mom.
