We’re looking for a dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing practice!

This position primarily focuses on patient care, with front-office responsibilities as needed. Duties may include rooming patients, vitals, assisting providers, point-of-care testing, prior authorizations, prescription refills, preparing exam rooms, and helping with office operations.

Qualifications:
• Previous Medical Assistant or Medical Receptionist experience
• At least 1 year of outpatient medical experience preferred
• EMR experience preferred
• Organized, dependable, professional, and compassionate
• Ability to multitask and work well as part of a team

Medical insurance is not offered with this position.

When Family Nurse Practitioner Kelsey Cooper opened One Heart Medical in Woodstock in 2022, business ownership wasn’t the path she had originally envisioned. Her goal was simply to provide compassionate care where patients feel heard and involved in decisions about their health.

The practice began with only 13 patients and now serves nearly 2,000 😮😍, with much of that growth coming through recommendations from patients and their families.

In 2025, One Heart Medical purchased the building at its current location and added two nurse practitioners, allowing the practice to expand its primary care services and begin offering limited quick-care appointments. Kelsey hopes to continue developing quick care over the next year, with the goal of eventually offering same-day or next-day appointments Monday through Friday. An in-house lab is also expected to open later this fall.

One Heart Medical also offers aesthetic services (Aesthetics By One Heart Med), an area Kelsey first explored while working with a dermatology practice and med spa in Warrenton.

Kelsey credits much of the practice’s success to having a dependable team and strong support system. As the business has grown, having the right people around her has been essential to continuing to provide the level of care she envisioned from the beginning.

Four years after welcoming its first patients, One Heart Medical continues to grow around the same purpose that inspired it: helping people feel heard, valued, and better equipped to take an active role in their health. We would like to share that Alicia Smootz, FNP, will be leaving One Heart Medical to pursue an opportunity closer to home, with her last day in the practice being August 27, 2026. She has accepted a position with the Transition Clinic, where she will help patients navigate the transition from hospital care back to their homes.

While we will miss Alicia, we are excited for her as she begins this new opportunity and wish her continued success in this important role.

We understand that many of our patients may have questions regarding continuity of care. We are actively seeking an experienced provider to join our team. Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible while continuing to provide the highest level of care you have come to expect from One Heart Medical. Alicia will continue to see her established patients through her final day with the practice.
