Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Jeffries Merriman, 70 years old, formerly of Millville, NJ passed peacefully at her home in Pittsgrove, NJ on Monday August 24, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was employed by Kidstown Childcare for 10 years where she found great joy taking care of the infants. She loved cruising with her loving husband Ken on his Harley, classic rock, crocheting, reading and adored her dog Maggie. She truly did enjoy the simple things in life.

Beth is survived by her husband Kenneth Merriman Sr., Daughter Stefanie Jeffries, Son Kenneth Merriman Jr. (wife Sarah), brother Robert Jeffries Jr. (wife Catherine) and 4 amazing grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Aiden, Isabel, Mia, and Kenneth "Tripp" the 3rd.

She was predeceased by her father Robert Jeffries Sr., mother Mary Jeffries and sister Ruth Jeffries.

As per her wishes, there will be no services . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Beth's memory to the Salem County Humane Society, PO Box 214, Carneys Point, NJ 08069.

In Loving Memory of James Elwood (85) and Mary Sandra Hopkins (78), of Pennsville, New Jersey, together in life, and now together again in eternity.

James Elwood Hopkins and Mary Sandra Hopkins shared a beautiful life built on faith, family, love, and devotion to one another. Their love story began when Mary was just 17 years old, and they were married on July 19, 1960. From that day forward, they walked through nearly seven decades of life side by side, building a family and a home filled with love.

Their faith was the foundation of their lives. Both James and Mary held firmly to their faith in God and were devoted members of Park Bible Baptist Church, where they were active and faithfully served their church family. Their love for the Lord was not simply something they spoke about—it was woven into the way they lived and the legacy they passed on to their children and grandchildren.

James was a proud member of the US Navy and wore his Navy hats with pride, never missing an opportunity to tell a good story. He dedicated 35 years of his working life as a union pipe fitter, eventually ending his career with PSEG. Mary retired from Atlantic City Electric after a career of her own. But while their work was an important part of their lives, their greatest joy was always their family.

Daniel “Danny” Garrison, 58, of Pittsgrove, passed away suddenly on August 13, 2026. Born in Elmer, Danny was the son of the late Donald Garrison Sr. and Phyllis Ann Clifford.
Danny was a graduate of Arthur P. Schalick High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he became an expert marksman. Before beginning his career with South State, Danny worked as a truck driver and through Local #676. He later worked for South State as a Shop Steward and Supervisor, where he was known not only for his dedication to his work, but also for his ability to teach, mentor, and help those around him.
Danny had a big heart and a genuine willingness to help anyone in need. He was a natural mentor and teacher who shared his knowledge generously with others. Funny, smart, talented, and kind, Danny had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for. He was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Outside of work, Danny enjoyed camping in the mountains, where he could relax and enjoy the outdoors. He cherished his family and the people he loved, and his loyal dog, Harly, was never far from his side.

Cora Lee (Harrell) Smith, lovingly known to so many as “Sweet Cora Lee,” passed away on August 11, 2026, just ten days before her 73rd birthday.

Born in Elmer, New Jersey, Cora Lee was the beloved daughter of Davis Baxter and Dora Lou (Welch) Harrell. Her family roots reached back to North Carolina and Tennessee before settling in South Jersey. Cora grew up on State Street in Elmer and carried with her throughout her life the love, traditions, and family values she learned there.

She later made her home on Mary Elmer Drive in Bridgeton, where she lived for more than twenty years before moving to Oyster Bay, New York. Mary Elmer Drive was much more than a house to Cora—it was home in every sense of the word. It was a place filled with family, holidays, birthdays, laughter, music, flowers, homemade food, and countless memories.

Cora was a woman of many gifts. She was especially talented in language arts, science, social studies, music, and arts and crafts. She graduated from Bridgeton High School with the Class of 1971 and attended Cumberland Community College, as well as court reporting and stenography at Ryder. Her exceptional shorthand and typing skills eventually led her into a career as a legal professional, where she worked alongside many lawyers and judges. Richard John Warner, born July 12, 1943, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, was raised in Elmer, New Jersey to George and Kathryn Warner. He passed away on August 1, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family. Richard married Adele Warner (Capers) and had three children, Rich (Tiffany), Wendy and Derek (Nicole) Warner.

Richard was predeceased by his father, George E. Warner; his mother, Kathryn M. Warner; and his brother-in-law, John F. Evans II.

Richard is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Adele Warner (Capers), his sons Rich and Derek and his daughter, Wendy. He is also survived by his sister Dottie and her children Cathy, Connie, Liz and John. Richard is also survived by two cousins that he was particularly close to, Brent Warner (Diane) and Kathryn Habel (John). Richard had eight grandchildren, Payton and Chloe, Ciera and Kari and Chance, Bella, Piper and Paisley. Richard is also survived by Bud, Ruth, Hillary Klos (Eric) and Eric Capers and Emil and Debbie Dech (Petrasek) and many other extended family members that will deeply miss him.

Beatrice T. Buff, 92, of Elmer passed away on August 9, 2026. Born in Monroeville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura (Elwell) Thomas.

Throughout her life, Beatrice was a dedicated medical secretary, working for many different doctors over the years. She took pride in her work and in the opportunity to help others. Beatrice was an active and faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where her church family was an important part of her life.

Beatrice enjoyed reading, coloring and sending cards to loved ones. She had a great appreciation of nature; whether it was visiting botanical gardens, Ocean City, NJ or sunbathing in the yard.

Beatrice is survived by her daughter Lynette O’Donnell; her grandchildren Richard Smith (Hope Pierce) and Laura Thompson (Randolph); along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Beatrice is predeceased by her husband Arthur Buff and her siblings Jerry Thomas, Ralph Thomas, Merwin Thomas and Sandy Bell.

Services will be held at the discretion of the family.

Joan Marie Moore, 86, of Monroeville, NJ passed away on August 8, 2026. Born in Bridgeton to the late William Shimp Guth and Reva Mae (Rathbone) Guth, she was raised in Woodstown and was a 1958 graduate of Woodstown High School. Over her career, she worked as a Pharmacy Tech for Sayre Pharmacy and a Medical Receptionist for Elmer Family Practice, both in Elmer.

Joan was an active member of the Pittsgrove Baptist Church in Daretown, teaching Sunday School and VBS among many other things. She enjoyed singing and reading in her early years, cross-stitching and needlepoint, was an avid fan of the Eagles and the Phillies and loved going to all the family functions, sporting events and recitals.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jack C. Moore; her daughters Joanne Tice and her husband Barry, Janet Rock, and Jayne Melancon and her husband Ted; her grandchildren Brittany, Cody (Jessica), Kyle (Jess), Tabitha (Zack), Ian (Jillian), Teddy (Gabby) and Lexy (Doug); her great grandchildren Katarina, Leo, Maeva, Brynnlee and Braxton; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother John Arthur Guth, her son in law Rob Rock and her great granddaughter Jaelynn.

Services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026 at the Pittsgrove Baptist Church, 368 Daretown Road, Elmer, NJ 08318. There will be a visitation starting at 9:30 AM leading to the funeral service at 11 AM....

Richard A. Cipolone, 76, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026. Born on September 1, 1949 in Brooklawn, NJ, he was one of seven children to Paul and Cecelia Cipolone.

Although he enjoyed his large family, he also enjoyed fast cars and late nights earning the nickname the “Ghost of Second Street”. Richard always had a quick wit, charismatic personality and a kind sweet heart.

Richard graduated from Gloucester High School Class of 1966. Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served four years including a eighteen month deployment to Vietnam. The family rejoiced over Richard’s return home from the war. Richard was always so proud of the USA and the military. He was very patriotic and enjoyed giving friends tours of the Brooklawn War Memorials by the Fire House across from Brooklawn Methodist Church.

In his 20s, he began his education for chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic College in California and practiced there for 25 years.

Richard enjoyed the California lifestyle. However, he felt a pull to return to 13 Second Street in Brooklawn. He was a volunteer EMT for Brooklawn Fire Company.

Then came the love of Richard’s life, Lisa, whom he met in 2011, making many beautiful memories, including their love for USANA Outdoor Range, gardening, purchasing their Dodge Charger SRT, and their four legged fur babies, Rocky, Lady, Jett, Jimmy & Bob. They married in 2021, purchasing their first home together in Pittsgrove Township, NJ....

Harry Earl Burden, age 91, of Sharptown, NJ passed away on August 3, 2026 at Christiana Hospital with his daughter by his side and into the arms of his Lord and Savior. Harry was born on March 19, 1935 in a one-room pickers cabin on Jill Brothers Farm in Pilesgrove, NJ. He is the son of Harry and Olive Burden, with three older sisters before him. There were many stories about how he was picked on by his older sisters, but they all plead the 5th.

Harry and his family moved to Church Street in Sharptown when he was five years old. He was affectionately nicknamed “Honey Boy” by his sister Geraldine. He told us it was because he is so sweet. Now that statement has been debated from time to time, along with the claim that Angel Food Cake was named after him.

As a child, he developed a great love of all animals, especially dogs. Harry started his education in the little white school house in Sharptown where he enjoyed playing football for the Black & Blue Sharptown Whales.

He later attended Woodstown High School where he played football as a receiver and backup quarterback. During his high school years, his best touchdown was scored off the field when the love of his life, Kathryn, moved in next door and tackled his heart. Jo Ann Brooks Hunnicutt, 88, of Carney's Point, NJ, and Holly Hill, FL, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis and Herman Brooks; her brother, Ron Brooks; and her son, David Mark Hunnicutt.

Jo Ann grew up in Cream Ridge, NJ, and graduated from Upper Freehold Township High School.

At 40 years of age, and after raising her sons, she earned a degree as a Respiratory Therapist. Her career spanned over 50 years, taking her from New Jersey to Florida, where she lived for many years. It also took her to South Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. She made many wonderful friends along the way and cherished each of them.

Jo Ann enjoyed traveling, having visited many countries in Europe, as well as many states in the US. Her only greater joy was spending time with her family and friends. Especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Mike (Ann) Hunnicutt. Her granddaughter, Cassie (Robert) Howley, and grandson Michael (Sara) Hunnicutt. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Cate and Ronan Howley; along with her niece Karen Leahey, and nephew Ron Brooks, and their families.

Jo Ann requested no services be held, and that her ashes be buried near her son David.

Mom, you will be forever in our hearts. We love you very much.
