Woodward Academy

Woodward Academy strives to provide a safe and structured environment for our clients. Woodward Academy also offers a non-residential program, the Day School.

Woodward Academy is a residential treatment program that delivers trauma-informed treatment services to youth between the ages of 12-18. The Day School serves male and female students from the greater Des Moines and surrounding areas who are struggling in the public school setting. Our programs are aimed at redirecting delinquent, negative behaviors to positive, socially acceptable patterns.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Senator Warme and Representative Harris to our campus.

Their visit gave our students and staff a chance to share our mission, our growth, and the incredible work happening on campus every day.

We are thankful for the time they dedicated to learning about our programs, meeting our students, and engaging in meaningful conversations about the future of youth development. Their continued commitment to creating opportunities for young people strengthens our mission and inspires the work we do every day. 😃

For 31 years, Woodward Academy has been a place where students are seen, supported, and inspired to rise. Every year adds new stories, new victories, and new reasons to believe in the power of education and community. Today we celebrate the heart of Woodward Academy — the students who show up with courage, the staff who lead with compassion, and the families who trust us with their children. Happy 31st Birthday to an organization that is dedicated to changing lives. 🎉

We celebrated with a rodeo-themed birthday party and our second annual talent show. Our students and staff played games, had eating contests, hay bale toss, and cooled off with some water games. 🌽🤠

Congratulations to our talent show winners! Having the courage to step onto a talent‑show stage means choosing bravery over comfort and believing that your voice, your skill, and your story deserve to be seen. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about showing up, shining anyway, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you ever imagined. 🎤🔥

Our final congratulation of the day goes to the Mountaineer Yetis, who are our 2026 Summer Olympic Champions! They will get to enjoy some bowling next week to celebrate their victory! 🏆
