We are excited to share that West View Healthy Living has received a $50,000 grant from the Beaverson Foundation Community Fund at the Wayne County Community Foundation to support renovations in our Carrington memory care unit.

This generous grant will make a significant impact on the nearly $70,000 project, helping us replace flooring for safer movement, repaint walls with dementia-informed colors, and refresh shared spaces so Carrington feels warm, familiar, and more like home for residents living with dementia.

As a nonprofit, we are deeply grateful for this investment in West View residents and families.

This grant brings us much closer to our goal, but additional support is still needed to complete the project. Gifts can be made online at www.wvhl.healthcare or mailed to West View Healthy Living.

As a recipient of the 2026 AHCA/NCAL National Bronze Quality Award, we remain committed not only to providing exceptional care on our campus, but also to advocating for policies that support seniors, families, caregivers, and the future of long-term care.

When West View Healthy Living resident Dorothy, 99, shared her wish, it was simple: return to the places that shaped her life in northeastern Wayne County.

Joined by family members, Dorothy spent the day revisiting her childhood farm, family church, the farm where she and her late husband Bob raised their family, local cemeteries, and the J.M. Smucker Company, where she worked for many years.

Along the way, she shared memories of farm life, walking to a one-room schoolhouse, meeting Bob at a Rural Youth dance, and raising a family on the farm they built together. Seeing familiar landmarks, including her favorite rhododendron bush still growing by her former home, brought back countless stories and cherished memories.

It was a day filled with reflection, family, and the joy of returning home. Through Dream On, West View Healthy Living helps create meaningful experiences that celebrate residents' lives, memories, and the places that continue to hold a special place in their hearts.
