Aveanna patient Justin lives with atrial septal defect (ASD) and chronic kidney disease, but he doesn't let that stop him from doing amazing things!

Because his grandmother is his primary nurse at Aveanna, she has a front row seat to all of her grandson's adventures. Outside of his Aveanna care, he enjoys participating in baseball and even surf therapy! We are so happy that the care Justin receives at home enables him to experience so many fun things around him.

Happy National School Nurse Day! School nurses play a vital role in supporting students with medical needs, ensuring they can safely participate, learn, and grow alongside their peers. For many of our patients, these nurses are an essential part of their care team, providing skilled support throughout the school day.

Their work goes far beyond first aid. Today, we recognize and thank school nurses for the difference they make in the lives of students and families every day!
